We love preschoolers and their families at First Baptist Duluth! We believe that a child’s spiritual journey begins at birth. Our desire is to partner with parents as they build a solid spiritual foundation in the lives of their preschoolers. In keeping with that partnership, we strive to effectively minister to your child in all areas of life: physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual. In everything we do, we want every young child to know that Jesus loves him or her and we do too.
When you come for the first time to any ministry, please come to the Preschool Reception Desk. Helpful volunteers will register your preschooler, go over some helpful information and take you to the preschooler’s room.
Sunday School (Sunday 9:30-10:30 am)
Sunday School for FBCD Preschoolers, from birth to Kindergarten, is a place where Biblical truths are taught on an age-appropriate level in a safe, loving environment. The preschool years are crucial in building a strong foundation for a child’s developing faith. Our Sunday School helps preschoolers to understand about God, Jesus, the Bible, the church, and God’s creation. Preschoolers also learn how God made them to relate to family, community and the world around us. We provide fun, Bible learning experiences which lay foundations for their faith in Jesus Christ.
ETC (Sunday 10:30am-12:00 pm)
ETC is Extended Teaching Care, a ministry provided for preschoolers during the worship service. Every Sunday morning, during the 10:50 am worship service, FBCD Preschool offers Extended Teaching Care from Birth through four years of age. Children continue receiving love and care while hearing and experiencing an extension of the Sunday School lesson for that day. Kindergarteners join with first through third graders in Kids Theatre.
HalfTime (Wednesday 6:00-7:30pm, during the school year)
Preschoolers, birth to 2 years old will be cared for in the nursery suite. Preschoolers three through five years old participate in Halftime on Wednesday nights in Mission Friends class. In Mission Friends they learn about God and His love for all people and how they can share God’s love with others. It is a great opportunity to begin to learn to move from a focus on self to a focus on others. All of the leaders are passionate about helping our preschoolers to grow spiritually through Mission Friends.
“Children are a gift from the Lord.”(Psalm 127:3)
Parent/Child dedication is a special celebration for parents to gather with family, friends and church family, making a commitment to raise their child in a Christ-centered home. During the scheduled worship service, parents will have an opportunity to stand before the church and celebrate the gift of your child. As a part of special ceremony, parents will parents will receive a Bible, Parent/Child dedication certificate and a sealed letter from the Pastor. That letter states that on that day, hundreds of people prayed for the child to accept Jesus as his/her Savior.
Preschool Family & Leaders Gathering
Each quarter there is a fellowship time designed to build meaningful relationships with families and ministry leaders and grow as a community. Preschool families and ministry leaders enjoy lunch, fun activities, and celebrate with everyone who had a birthday that quarter.
