Mark is a native of Pulaski, Virginia where he accepted Christ and was baptized. It was there that he was ordained into the ministry and has served as pastor in six other churches prior to coming to First Baptist Duluth, Georgia. Previously, he was the Senior Pastor of Northside Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. He has been President of the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana and a Trustee for Lifeway Christian Resources. In 2009, he authored the book Being Church 101. His new book Technicolor: Inspiring Your Church to Embrace Multicultural Ministry is being published by Holman Publishing this year. Mark earned his Master of Divinity degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctorate of Ministry from Luther Rice Seminary. Mark is married to Glenda and they have four daughters, four grandsons and two granddaughters.
SoYoung Lee grew up in Seoul, Korea and graduated from Ewha Woman’s University with B.A in Christian Studies & M.A in Christian Education. She is also a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX with M.A. in Christian Education, concentration in Childhood Education. She served as children’s minister at Resemblance of Christ Korean Baptist Church in Irving ,TX for six years, and her calling and passion is to set before each child the “Light of the Word”-who is Jesus-the only one who can save them, guide them, and keep them confident and sure, both now and forever.
SoYoung and her husband K.J. are raising two daughters, Claire and Caitlyne. She joined First Baptist Duluth in summer 2014 and loves to serve the Lord and reach out to people in both church and weekday preschool. She enjoys playing piano for her daughters as they play their cello and violin, spending time with her family & friends, organizing, reading, and scrapbooking.
A graduate of Samford University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, he and his wife Margaret have two adult children. Keith has served the Lord at First Baptist Duluth since August 1997. “First Baptist is a ‘seven-day-a-week’ church,” he says. “It reaches people with ministries every day of the week and at many locations — in the community, around the nation and around the world.” Keith and his wife, Margaret, live in Lawrenceville.
My name is Charlottee Kumar. I am from New Delhi, India, graduated from Southern Asia Bible College with Master of Divinity Program. Before coming to America, I ministered to women and Children through Good News Centre, New Delhi, India. I served as the Child Welfare officer at Bethlehem Children’s Home for three years. At present I am pursuing my Doctor of Ministry Program from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I am working as a Family Ministry Intern at FBCD to reach out to the local Indian Community. My passion is to reach out to local Indians and disciple them to grow in the Lord. In my free time I enjoy listening to music, reading and exploring new places.

An Atlanta native, he is a graduate of the University of West Georgia and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to Jennifer, and they have 2 sons and 1 daughter. Todd has served in four different churches in the metro area before coming to First Baptist on April of 2014. He loves anything Disney, Georgia Tech, or Beach related. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, reading, and listening to music.
Jan Langston, our Children’s Director, grew up in North Georgia and has been in the Atlanta area for the past 25 years. Jan has taught children for over 30 years and has served as Children’s Minister and Children’s Coordinator for the past 13 years at an area church. Jan and her husband, Terry, have a daughter, a son, and 3 grandsons.
There are three homes in her heart. First is South Korea where she was born and raised. Second is Logos II, a mission ship of OM, where she served God as a missionary as sailing 40 countries with other missionaries from 35 countries, another family. Third is America where she is found at a wonderful church, First Baptist Duluth, where God has led her to be with this lovely family of God. She is so thankful and thrilled to be at FBCD because it is where her gift is being used as the Korean interpreter and where she is living accordingly what her name means – “connecting girl.”
God has equipped her to be here as led her to study in Ewha Woman’s University, get the Master’s in pastoral counseling in Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary along with TESL certificate from Liberty University.
She is married to Jeong – doo (Tom) Rhe and has 3 boys, Joseph, Joel, and Daniel. They live in the church’s mission house where she loves to take a walk and look at the beautiful church side skies every day with a grateful heart.
After traveling with Life Action Revival Ministries as a worship leader for 4 years, Mark joined the FBCD staff in August 2016. A graduate of Georgia State University with a B.A. in Linguistics, Mark loves to see nations come together to worship and serve God, and is excited to be a part of what God is doing among the nations here in Duluth. He married his beautiful wife Kendra in June 2015, and he enjoys reading good books, playing soccer and tennis, and deep conversations over delicious coffee.
Born in Korea yet raised in the south. Cindy serves as our Financial Ministry Assistant. She and her husband, Michael, have 2 sons (Michael and Trever) and joined the staff in early 2013.
She loves to do anything creative, and enjoys all the variety that comes with her work here at First Baptist. She is passionate about discipling the next generation, enjoys photography, decorating, a lover of music and the outdoors.
She keeps Starbucks in business and loves all things chocolate.
Karen has served on the administrative staff since 2000. She also serves as church pianist. Her family moved to Duluth after her husband, Dennis, left the Air Force. They have three children and two grandchildren. Karen enjoys music, reading and especially playing with her grandchildren.
